He Lives!

2 Corinthians 13:4 – He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by God's power. (NIV)

It was a wonderful evening! We had delicious food and Christian fellowship with several of our friends before we went to see the Passion Play at a large church about seventy-five miles from our home.

It was, however, a roller-coaster experience, and I was emotionally exhausted before the evening ended. I exulted with those around me, as I relived Jesus' triumphant march into Jerusalem amidst the crowd welcoming Him with palm leaves. To shout "Hallelujah" to this King of the Jews that we now know as our Saviour and Lord was what I wanted to do.

Righteous indignation welled up within me as the cast of the Passion Play screamed, "Crucify Him". Then tears of sadness literally flowed down my face as they beat Him and hung Him on the cross. I was reminded of the many times Jesus has been disappointed in me. Sometimes, it is still not easy to comprehend that He loves me so much that He would die on the cross for me.

What a gratifying celebration as we viewed the portrayal of Jesus coming out of that grave alive and ascending into heaven! And then to know that "The King Is Coming" again, as it was sung so beautifully, made me want to shout and sing praises again and again.

Prayer: Lord, it is a glorious thought knowing that You still live today. We praise Your holy name! Amen.
