Listen to this devotional:

Isaiah 12:5 – Sing to the Lord, for He has done excellent things; this is known in all the earth. (NKJV)

It seems that the older I get, the more the technology gets ahead of me. I recently got a new cellular phone, and with it came something called "Bluetooth® wireless", which enables me to wear an earpiece and to have the phone in my purse, and still answer and make phone calls. Once our son set up the phone and all the settings for the Bluetooth®, I was ready to go.

One of my first trips took me out in the car with the earpiece of my phone attached to my ear. It really does look like something from Star Trek. There I was, sitting at the traffic light, which was red, and I had the stereo tuned to my favourite Christian artist. I was singing away to the music when I got the feeling I was being looked at. I looked to my left, and there, sitting at the red traffic light, was a young man. He was smiling, and he pointed to his earpiece — he had the same type of earpiece as I was wearing. I think he thought I was talking on my phone, when in fact, I was actually singing to the radio. Then the light turned green. As I began to drive away, I thought how neat it would have been to be able to send from my earpiece to his earpiece the music I was listening to and the message of our Lord and Saviour.

Ephesians 5:19 – Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord. (NIV)

Prayer: Dear Lord, we love to sing Your praises. Help us to share Your good name with all whom we meet. We want the world to know who You are and all that You have done for us that allows us to sing and praise Your name. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
