The Trip Of A Lifetime!

Luke 15:8-10 – Imagine a woman who has ten coins and loses one. Won't she light a lamp and scour the house, looking in every nook and cranny until she finds it? And when she finds it you can be sure she'll call her friends and neighbors: "Celebrate with me! I found my lost coin!" Count on it — that's the kind of party God's angels throw every time one lost soul turns to God. (MSG)

Our 50+ group just went on a bus trip to the Hamilton Botanical Gardens. Here is part of their newsletter.

Quick! Don't waste another minute. Turn fifty as soon as you can. Retire! At least, take the day off. You don't want to miss another Keenagers' bus trip. Yes, you could visit these places on your own, but you would miss out on the friendships, singing, games, and jokes. Even coffee at everyone's favourite shop just isn't the same if you don't share it with a crowd!

I am quick to proclaim what a great time I have had socially. However, too often I fail to speak of the wonderful trip I am on daily, travelling toward heaven with fellow believers.

This is how it might sound.

Quick! Don't waste another minute! As soon as you ask Jesus into your life, retire! Stop trying to do everything by yourself! Join a Bible-believing church! Yes, you can visit the Christian life on your own, but you will miss out on the friendships, singing, games, and jokes. The Christian life just isn't the same if you don't share it with a crowd.

Who can you invite to your church this week?

Hebrews 10:24-25 – And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. (NASB)

Prayer: Father God, thank you for a voice to speak of you. Forgive us when we use it only to yell at sporting events and theatre venues. Place someone on our hearts today, someone who yearns for Christian fellowship. Help us to use our voice to invite them, to be the ones to lead them there. In Jesus' name. Amen.
