Counting Our Blessings

Romans 5:5 – And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us. (KJV)

Just a few days ago I celebrated my birthday — seventy five years old! Yes, and when I look back over the years, I have many memories. Some are full of joy and singing, while others bring back thoughts of anxieties and tears. But, over the years, God has never left me to struggle through the days alone. The love of Jesus has surrounded my life. The Psalmist sings: "For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone." (Psalm 86:10 KJV)

So we pause and think of the wondrous things that He has done in our lives, and in creation. We do love you, Father, and we thank you for the grace you have shown us through Jesus Christ.

Dear friends, if we are eighteen years of age or eighty years of age, let's pause and give thanks to God for his many blessings.

Prayer: Father, we thank you for the time that you have given us. May we always be faithful in all of our actions and words as we live this time. In Jesus' name. Amen.
