Listen to this devotional:

Revelation 22:13 – I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. (KJV)

We used to have two Sheltie dogs. We got the second one a year after the first one. Tramp, the smaller one, would always follow Lady. Wherever she went, he was right behind her. I never thought much about it. I just assumed that he had adopted Lady as his mother, and all was well.

After having them for several years, we clued in that Tramp was blind. He couldn't jump up into a truck. He would always miss. He would run right in front of a quad's wheel. Lady would be on the other side of the quad. Much to our dismay, he was run over once by the quad. The treads on the tire didn't hurt him — he just hopped on up and kept going. Maybe if he had been following Lady, he wouldn't have been run over.

God knows the beginning and the end. He is the beginning and the end. He knows all the in-between stuff as well. He is omniscient. He wants us to follow Him, just like Tramp followed Lady. He trusted her completely. That is what Jesus wants us to do with Him as well. There are times when we don't follow Jesus, and we get run over by the treads of life. We can hop up, dust ourselves off, and keep going — just like Tramp did. Let's remember Lady and Tramp as we go about our daily lives.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, we know You want us to follow You, and yet there are times when we get sidetracked. Please forgive us. Help us to keep our eyes on You. Amen.
