Listen while you read: "I Will Sing Of My Redeemer"1 (Lyrics) |
Matthew 9:20-22 – And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. For she said to herself, "If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well." But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, "Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour. (NKJV)
For over five years, I hosted a radio program called The Gospel Train. The joy of the Lord was in my heart as I read Scripture and played classic gospel recordings. One of my favourites was from Grammy Award artist, Andraé Crouch, who recorded a song titled Oh It Is Jesus. The words read as follows:
- Oh it is Jesus,
Oh it is Jesus,
It's Jesus in my soul;
For I have touched the hem of His garment,
And His blood has made me whole.
These lyrics apply fittingly to today's text. The advantage this certain woman had was being able to actually touch Jesus' garment. Her genuine faith gave her great determination that she was able to push through the throng to make the connection with Jesus. And because her faith was so strong, Jesus said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well."
Today, we do not have the garment of Jesus to touch. However, this unique healing miracle gives us an abundance of hope. Jesus told us, "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed … nothing shall be impossible unto you" (Matthew 17:20 KJV). This is a tremendous promise to all of us who need physical healing; our prayer with faith trusting in God through Jesus Christ is our remedy to make us whole. Oh it is Jesus!
Prayer: Merciful Lord God, we give You honour and glory, and we praise Your holy name. We humbly ask You to cleanse our hearts, put a renewed spirit within us, and make each a whole person once again. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Thanks for sharing Lou.
God used you today to bless me.
Thank you for being available!
Good morning,
I really appreciated your prayer today. I hope Jesus can keep me strong.
Thank you Lou.
That radio was our lifeline and livelihood for over 40 years.
How well I understand the volumes that medium reached back in the day. Nowadays, there are so many other forms of getting messages out, but I believe radio will always play a part communications.

Great devotional, love the verses. Your message FATHER chose wisely making you one of HIS vessels to bring HIS message to your readers, including me.
May HE continue to rain HIS blessings upon you, and your wife.

Dear Lou,
This is a beautiful devotional. Praise God. I had the privilege of touching the hem of His garment during the presentation of an Easter program by our sanctuary choir. I was part of the crowd. As Jesus walked by me I reached out and touched his garment. I was immediately blessed by the spirit-it was Jesus alright!
God bless you richly.
Amen Lou! Friends of mine employed this kind of faith a couple of years ago. A young father little girls under 10 was diagnosed with cancer. He and his wife prayed in faith, asking for cleansing, repenting of anything God showed them and claiming healing and he became cancer free. Really quite an amazing story. I was at the hospital with them when the doctor delivered the original bad news. He was down to skin and bones and now he is the picture of strength and health. Indeed we serve a wondrous God.
Amen!
I know what you are talking about.
The Lord decided to heal me and I was left to wonder in awe.
Also my heart issue has gone as the cardiologist put it.
“I have seen Jesus!” is my song during my earthly walk!
May His Presence, Power and Healing fill us all with awesome thanksgiving!
God bless!
Dear Lori,

Oh it is Jesus!
Oh it is Jesus!
May God bless you as you continue to write.
And pray for me and my writing too please. Amen.
