1 Peter 3:15 – But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.

A little while ago I finished a six week course on personal evangelism. The approach was a little different and very simple. It was convicting. Let me tell you what I mean.

Many years ago I took a course in first aid. After completing it, I was travelling along a road when I came upon a very bad accident. It had just happened and people were there to help. Had I not had that first aid training, I most likely would have passed by. But because I had some training I felt I had to see if there was anything that I could do. This course on personal evangelism is telling me the same thing. If along the road of life, I find someone seeking help to find a way to know God as the Lord of their life, I pray, "Don't let me pass by; let me be alert to the needs of others." I found this course to be a personal experience that I believe the Lord led me to. It was a time that I took a deep look into myself as a Christian.

Prayer: Lord, You continually open new avenues for us on which to travel. We pray that you will never let us miss an opportunity to lead someone to You. Never let us pass someone by. Amen.
