Leaving A Mark

Listen while you read: "O Lord Thou Art My God And King"1 (Lyrics)

1 John 5:11 – And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (NIV)

My car needed to go in for some scheduled warranty work. I usually keep my car tidy, but after a winter of snow and cold, it needed a little more care to tidy it up. After taking the time to do this, I then went about putting some of the personal items which I had in the car into a bag, before the car went in for service.

Taking a final look through the car before I left for the service appointment, my eyes came upon a cross that I also have in my car. As my hand was reaching up to put it into the bag, I felt the Lord impressing upon me to leave it in place. As I drove to the appointment, my eyes kept glancing to the cross, and it became apparent to me that I was to leave it in place, and that by leaving it in the car I was leaving a mark of my Lord and Saviour.

1 Corinthians 1:18 – For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (NIV)

Prayer: Dear Jesus, may we never lose sight of the price that was paid for us on the cross. Help us to keep You always in our sight. May we always remember to share You with the people that we meet. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
