Psalm 111:2 – Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them. (NIV)
I don't expect to travel to all the exotic beauty spots of the world, but thanks to search engines like Google, I enjoy them from afar. My recent discoveries include the Plitvice Lakes and Death Valley's Sailing Stones. The Morning Glory Pool in Yellowstone National Park and the Morning Glory Cloud over Australia are every bit as interesting as the Christmas Island Red Crabs. Search for "Jerusalem" — and travel the Via Dolorosa or the Mount of Olives! Of course, it is not the same as physically being there, but one gets a feel for the place.
Search results on the word "heaven" show only man-made things like songs, artists' images, and strange opinions. While Scripture alludes to heaven's greatness and how wonderful it will be, we won't really experience it fully or know what it looks like until we get there.
Meanwhile, God in His goodness gave us wonderful earthly places to enjoy and to be thankful for while we anticipate the greater magnificence of His presence in heaven.
Psalm 115:16 – The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to man. (NIV)
Prayer: Lord, we take so much for granted here on earth. Everything from a tiny bug to a huge mountain should be bringing us to our knees in awe. Thanks, Lord, for all we see here, and for all we will experience when we meet You in heaven. Amen.
