When We Are Wounded

Monday, April 5, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

For years, I've wondered how followers of Christ can inflict such deep hurts on others, and still call themselves Christians. About a year or so ago, I was revisiting the Scripture passage on the arrest of Jesus, and I noted … Read more

Planting A Seed

Even though seventeen years and three thousand miles separated me from my youngest brother during his childhood, we've always maintained a close bond. I remember visiting him when he was six. He told me of his first year at school, … Read more

Seeking The Lost

Wednesday, March 17, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

My West Highland White Terrier, Ben Nevis, spent the first years of his life testing the meaning of the word "come". Cats, foxes, people were playmates to be chased. Woods and lakes were playgrounds to be explored. Perhaps the day … Read more

Finding God's Will

Thursday, March 11, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

I don't know about you, but I've often wished that God would write His plans for my life down on a piece of paper and hand them to me. I know that I'd be frightened if I saw His handwriting … Read more

Be Faithful

Monday, March 8, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

"What's the use?" This was the question I was tempted to ask after a family move. Seeing as I was far away from our former home and church family, it would have been so easy to stay in my warm … Read more

"What is that?" My two-year-old granddaughter was pointing to her great-grandmother's casket. I held my breath, and wondered how her aunt would answer her. I certainly didn't want her to experience the same nightmares that I'd had when someone forced … Read more

Good Night, God

Sunday, February 29, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

Recently, one of my friends asked, "How are you?" and, when I hesitated briefly to consider how I should reply, she nodded knowingly, and said, "You're being carried right now." "Yes, I'm being carried." I agreed. Later that night, I … Read more

The Anchor That Holds

Wednesday, February 25, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

There is one place I don't want to be in a north-easterly gale, and that is on the water. Not long ago, one of these storms brought high winds, up to 72 centimetres of snow, and winter havoc to the … Read more

Worldwide Ministry

Pray
Friday, October 2, 2026 – In Peru — Praise God for Pastor Elvis and Rosita who are doing a great job. Pray they will have the lay support they need to grow the church while we are on Home Assignment next year. Pray for the Lord to raise up good, consistent Sunday School teachers and leaders, mature in the faith and capable of loving the people. Pray also for the Lord's leading as we try to prepare the church for our absence.
