The Lonely Land

Friday, September 17, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

"Focus on the road," I urged my wandering thoughts, but the last e-mail from home made it difficult to stay focused on the black ribbon of pavement that cut through the 519 kilometres of wilderness. The yawning truck driver I … Read more

Close To The Master

Tuesday, September 14, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

"What's the matter, Ben Nevis?" I really didn't expect an answer from the small white dog shivering on my kitchen floor, his black nose pointed into the corner. Prior to this, he'd been running about the house, looking out the … Read more

The Thief

Saturday, September 4, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

Recently, I spent all morning sorting, throwing out well-worn T shirts, and making piles of clothing to give away. It wasn't until I was putting away the summer clothes that I discovered the disaster. Pleased to have come across my … Read more

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

Thursday, September 2, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

A tear trickled down her wrinkled cheek, and she brushed it aside with the corner of her lace-trimmed hankie. My 83-year-old grandmother was visiting me for the first time since my first child was born. Later, as she held my … Read more

Passing On The Baton

Tuesday, August 24, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

"That was a good service." I heard these words several times as I made my way through the crowded foyer and out to my car. "A good service" — I pondered these words as my husband and I drove home … Read more

Pointing The Way

Friday, August 20, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

I have a fascinating stone statue on my desk that catches my eye each time I use my computer. The figure isn't fancy, nor did it cost me a lot of money, but I keep it because it reminds me … Read more

Monday, August 16, 2004 Elaine Ingalls Hogg

Some time ago, the pastor at the church where I was worshipping had resigned after several years of dedicated service, and the church was awaiting the arrival of a new pastor. Of course, both the congregation and the board talked … Read more

Worldwide Ministry

Pray
Friday, October 2, 2026 – In Peru — Praise God for Pastor Elvis and Rosita who are doing a great job. Pray they will have the lay support they need to grow the church while we are on Home Assignment next year. Pray for the Lord to raise up good, consistent Sunday School teachers and leaders, mature in the faith and capable of loving the people. Pray also for the Lord's leading as we try to prepare the church for our absence.
