Broken Resolutions

Friday, January 21, 2005 Brenda Wood

Here we are late into the New Year. The January 1st crunch of resolution has passed. So has most of my resolve. I really struggled with my weight loss plans from November right into January. That is, I had a … Read more

Talk Show Junkie

Sunday, January 16, 2005 Brenda Wood

A former TV addict, I recovered by simply not learning to like any new shows. I freed up an hour every time one of my favourites vanished. Until recently, however, I still taped and watched two popular daily talk shows. … Read more

Comfy Shoes

Thursday, January 13, 2005 Brenda Wood

The dance floor was covered with a large variety of shoes. Of course they were all attached to people's legs! More experienced feet wore dark lace-up oxfords with support inserts, while younger toes sported three-inch heels, strappy sandals, and bright … Read more

Snowed In

Monday, January 10, 2005 Brenda Wood

I used to be a snowbird wannabe. When my parents scurried off to Florida at the first sign of a winter blow, I wanted to climb right in their back seat. Not a fan of ice, snow, and cold, nevertheless … Read more

"Oh, My God"

Friday, January 7, 2005 Brenda Wood

Most Christians cringe when they hear profanity in the world. "In the good old days", the misuse of God's name seemed to come only from hard-living, tough-looking fellows standing on street corners. Just last week while watching an episode of … Read more

It Will Never Happen To Me!

Tuesday, January 4, 2005 Brenda Wood

My friend hung her purse on the back of the door of the public bathroom cubicle, and while she was otherwise engaged, someone stole it. "Once bitten, twice shy," I said. "I guess you will never do that again!" To … Read more

The Good News Party

Monday, December 27, 2004 Brenda Wood

It wasn't even a holiday, but we were having a party. The doctor's office had just called to say that I was now considered to be cancer-free! My mom and dad were so happy and excited that they brought down … Read more

Mom's Cupboards

Saturday, December 25, 2004 Brenda Wood

For months, my dad had spent every free moment in the basement, building kitchen cupboards as a Christmas present for my mom. At least that's what we children thought. We weren't permitted to go down and see for ourselves. We … Read more

Prince Albert's Tree?

Monday, December 20, 2004 Brenda Wood

It has been said that Queen Victoria of England greatly loved her prince, Albert of Germany. She stuck beside him when the country reviled him for bringing a "heathenish" decorated tree to the Christmas celebrations. Even now, some people consider … Read more

Worldwide Ministry

Pray
Thursday, October 1, 2026 – In Canada — Recently we witnessed a powerful move of the Holy Spirit in the life of our sister, "Huzaifa". Since choosing to follow Jesus Christ, her journey has come at significant personal cost. Because of her new faith, her husband chose to divorce her, leaving deep wounds that hardened into bitterness. We discussed the biblical theme of forgiveness. God's Word began working deeply in "Huzaifa's" heart. Pray for Huzaifa's* growth in the Lord.
