Listen while you read: "Moment By Moment"1 (Lyrics)

"In Loving Memory of …" was printed on the inside of the pamphlets, along with pictures of the deceased, as well as the month, day, and year that they were born and the month, day, and year that they passed away — their time on this earth.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2a – There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven — A time to give birth, and a time to die. (NASB)

I knew a man, who, when his life on earth was done, tore the family apart. To this day, the family never reconciled or forgave each other. I also knew a man, who, when his life on earth was done, brought the family closer together. His sacrifice in death, it seemed to me, was needed in order to bring about a reconciliation within his family.

This event made me think of Jesus' death on the cross. He gave up His life for us, a sacrifice, so that we could live our lives on this earth knowing that we have been forgiven and reconciled with God.

2 Corinthians 5:18-20 – Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. (NASB)

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Son, Jesus, who gave up His life on a cross for us so that we could be reconciled with You. Help us to spread this wonderful message to the whole world. Amen.
