Hair

2 Corinthians 6:4 – Instead, in everything we do we show that we are God's servants. (GNB)

For most of her ten years, Bethany has had long hair. It is thick, naturally streaked, with just enough wave. Beautiful hair!

Unfortunately, she also has an extremely sensitive head, which made daily hair brushing an ordeal that often ended in tears. Finally she had had enough and decided to get it cut.

We had recently heard of another girl who had donated her hair, and Bethany thought she would also like to help. "Locks of Love" takes donated hair and makes wigs for disadvantaged children with medical conditions that leave them without hair of their own.

It was such a simple gesture. Little time or expense was involved — only the desire of one child wishing to help another. Yet it was a moment of giving that we will always remember.

Our lives are filled with moments when a small gesture can make a big difference in someone's life. A call, a card, a few dollars, even a smile could spread Jesus' love and make a difference.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we are presented with opportunities to spread Your love every day. Help us to follow Jesus' example and help others every chance we get. Amen.
