Seeking BalancePodcast

Sunday, August 13, 2023 Kenn Stright

What fun we have with some of the novices who come to visit our region in the summer. We have a plethora of possibilities when it comes to watercraft — from kayak to canoe, from tender to sailboat. One thing the tourists all have in … Read more

Saturday, August 12, 2023 Alice Burnett

My brother and I don't usually exchange birthday presents, so I was surprised to receive a padded envelope in the mail shortly before my recent birthday. This is more than a card, I thought, fingering a flat, rectangular object in the … Read more

Inheritance In The WaitingPodcast

Friday, August 11, 2023 Martin Wiles

Mine wasn't sizable, but it seemed enormous at the time, especially when I had no idea that I even had an inheritance in the waiting. I was fifteen and doing what many teens do — lying on my bed, trying to escape my parents. But when I … Read more

Jesus, Our Living HopePodcast

Thursday, August 10, 2023 Ruth Rowe

When I was a young child, I started to ask for a pony for my birthday. We lived in a town where there was a good-sized empty acreage across the road from our house. I thought that a pony could live there and that I could ride it every day. … Read more

What's In A Nickname?Podcast

Wednesday, August 9, 2023 Shirley Moulton

Have you ever been tagged as part of a group of people? When I was in high school, the athletic guys and girls were known as the "jocks", the academically minded quiet ones were known as "the brains", and some of the tags weren't as … Read more

Half-Formed PrayersPodcast

Tuesday, August 8, 2023 Gail Lundquist

I'm so grateful that our gracious God answers our half-formed prayers. Are you? All too often, I find myself muttering a fragmentary thought as I dash in and out of God's holy presence. My need may be genuine and my thought sincere, but … Read more

Funky Feet In The DarkPodcast

Saturday, August 5, 2023 Jeanie Nihiser

How many times have you seen true darkness? I remember going down into a cave with a group of people. The guide said, "In a minute, we will turn off the lights, and you will see, perhaps for the first time, real darkness." Before that, we … Read more

The New Lease On LifePodcast

Friday, August 4, 2023 Lynne Phipps

In May, five new members of our family arrived. Five baby pygmy goats tumbled out of their travelling crates and into our corral. As they did so, we all wondered how Agnes, our ancient, eleven-year-old goat, would react to these … Read more

Worldwide Ministry

Pray
Monday, September 7, 2026 – In Angola — Please pray for our rural church people who are struggling with poverty. For job opportunities for them. So many families struggle to even have enough food. We give thanks for the abundant rain for crops, as one man said, "rain gives life"! With the rains come many cases of malaria and now some of the mud brick houses are collapsing as foundations are not well built. Pray that their faith will hold strong.
