I have been visually impaired for some time now, and today, I want to tell you about my struggle with not being able to see the details. Adjusting to this new normal is like being a first-grader in the school of learning! I am often frustrated by the inconvenience and by the errors caused by such impairment.
I have had to seek help, as well as receive help that is offered, since, for example, I can't make out the coins in my hand. They are all just blurry to me. I can feel that some are loonies and some are toonies by their size, but I need a bright light to see just what is what.
In light of my struggle, I began to evaluate what I have learned in Bible study in my lifetime, and the word details would not leave me. Like wave after wave, as I studied, the details would demand that I take a closer look at many words or sentences in the Bible.
I realized that the Bible is, in detail, God's Word for our good.
Take any word — for example, faith — and trying to master the meaning of the word, one is in the middle of awesome truth. How do we define faith in one word when there is so much more to it? Faith comes by hearing God's Word. We receive our faith in Jesus when we surrender all our being to Him. In a miraculous exchange of wills, we give up ours so that Jesus may fill us with His will from head to toe, and from head to heart.
When we are hungrily feeding on the Bread of Life, Jesus, we are fed with the details of Jesus' sacrificial death and resurrection as payment for our sins as believers.
I pray that as we take time to examine the details within the Bible, they will bring us closer to God as our Maker, Provider, and Redeemer. When the details of our rescue from sin and error become a gospel truth to us, we will walk in the light, rejoicing and praising God for His faithfulness that details His great love, with a new voice singing, "All I have needed Thy hand hath provided — strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow!"
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your provision for our eternal life in Your heaven. Thank You for the bright hope of things to come and for the strength to endure here in this life. Great is Your faithfulness to us, O Lord, to the glory of Your name! Amen!

Thursday, April 25, 2024 – In Mexico — Pray for an open door for the Gospel to be preached in the Vineyards of Northern Mexico this spring. Pray that we may be able to go, but if not, then pray for a local believer to deliver the word, so that the Good News of Jesus will be preached to the hundreds of migrant workers from Southern Mexico. Pray the salvation of many.

Kristi, although your physical eyesight is failing, you have your eyes firmly set upon our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am so grateful you are still able to give us such spiritually inspiring Devotionals. God has given you a gift that you use to help us see his love and faithfulness.

Thank you so much for your devotional for today. The Lord surely gives you insight to write such significant thoughts. This year I have been reading through the Bible and I am now reading through Acts and that verse 11 was highlighted in one of my Bibles. I am 84 years old and praise the Lord for good eyes to read with, and am delighted in reading — searching it more than ever. For the past 4 months I have done a discipline I learned from Billy Graham — 5 Psalms and 1 Proverb every day. I look forward to it more than during the first month. I’ve done it many different times — starting on the 1st of the month.
I am so thankful for your devotional, and from the USA, have a thankful time leading into Advent.
