Listen to this devotional:
Listen while you read: "We've A Story To Tell To The Nations"1 (Lyrics)

Luke 18:16-17 – Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." (NIV)

When I was a young child, each Sunday morning my grandmother made sure that I was ready for Sunday School, nicely dressed in my one and only Sunday best. I remember very vividly my little white socks trimmed with lace and my feet planted firmly in my little black patent leather shoes. I loved going to Sunday School. I loved the songs, the stories, and the beautiful pictures in the Bible. Sunday School is where my relationship with Christ Jesus started.

Looking back, I am eternally grateful that my relationship with our heavenly Father started so early in my childhood. The journey throughout my life has been God-focused, and I can personally attest to all God's goodness and mercy. I have experienced trials, tribulations, and near-death experiences, but He has never failed me yet.

Matthew 6:25 – Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? (NIV)

God our Father in heaven is here, there, and everywhere, and He is with each of us throughout our lives. Trusting and believing in Him through His Son Jesus Christ is the only way to go, because there is no other way to God. He takes care of all our needs and worries.

Having a relationship with Christ Jesus gives us an awesome and comforting feeling — knowing that He is always near. We were created by Him in His image. We belong to Him. Trusting in Jesus and in our heavenly Father for all of our needs is crucial in our daily lives. Trusting and believing gives us hope — something solid to hold onto. It makes sense to focus on God's Word and to live our lives like children of God.

Psalm 91:14-16 – "Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation." (NIV)

I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for planting the seed of understanding in my granny's heart, so that she could prepare me for my journey. Today, my heart sings with joy when I think of all the wonderful gifts that the Father has bestowed on me throughout my life. I didn't always get it right, but like a child, I know where to go for spiritual guidance. I encourage you to call on Him. He will not fail you!

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for loving us and for dying for our sins. Thank You for always being near us. Thank You for Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your grace that we need to live each day in Your strength. Amen.

Wow, could I ever identify with your message today, Yvonne, from the little white socks and beautiful bible stories, to still carrying Christ in your heart today.
I wish more people had this experience, but I continue to pray.
    Thank you for sharing today.

    Yvonne,
A great testimony and tribute to your grandmother’s faithful care to introduce you early to a place where you could begin to learn about a God who loves you. That is a wonderful encouragement to those of us who have opportunities with our grandchildren. Thank you.

Over the years, I have had the pleasure of your spiritual guidance, wisdom, and love all my life. It is with great joy that the world sees what an awesome writer, believer, and sister in Christ you are. May you continue to write and be a blessing to all whom read your wonderful testimonies to the Lord Jesus Christ!

Oh Yvonne, how I pictured myself as you described the socks we used to wear and our one ‘Sunday best’! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I too attended Sunday school and church each week. The Bible verses and stories I learned and the songs that were sung touched me deeply as well and eventually, a personal relationship with our Lord grew!
    Thanks for sharing this message!
    Blessings.

    Good morning, Yvonne,
I was smiling as a read your beautiful thank you to your grandmother and to God. It was written from a heart of gratitude and love.
Thank you for sharing your feelings and your experience. I am encouraged when someone shares a part of their story to help us all remember all the times God has been there for us and how we were started on our faith journey.
May you have a blessed day and know that your devotional is appreciated. Blessings.

Thank for this reminder of how important Sunday School was in our lives. Most churches in Canada no longer have a Sunday School program like we had in the 50’s.
During the pandemic I did a traditional Sunday School program in my home with some of my grandchildren but sadly one of my children has turned her back on faith and her children are not being raised to even know GOD. We can only love and pray for that part of our family. The only time they hear about God and Jesus is at grace before a family meal but not when the family goes to their house!
So sad that young family lives are too busy in many churches to run a Sunday School program.

    Thanks Yvonne!

Thank you, Yvonne, for this testimony of God’s faithfulness.

Thank you for a beautiful testimony that I can identify with – I praise God for His loving care and direction.

Thank you, Yvonne, for your devotion. There’s nothing more important than having a relationship with Jesus! Hope to see more devotions from you in the future.
    Blessings.

Hey Yvonne, what a wonderful testimonial to your longevity of life. Starting out with Sunday School gave the first and basic start to life which helped to prepare us for life’s journey. Thanks for reminding me of that journey. God be with you as you continue your Relationship with God and inspiring us to follow.

    Dear Yvonne,
Thank you for this lovely and encouraging devotional. The gospel rings true beautifully through it.
    Blessings,
