I'm a romantic. I love to read Christian romance books. I enjoy watching Hallmark movies. I love happy endings!
The greatest love story ever written is God's love story.
John 3:16 – For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. (GNT)
God is a good, good Father — it's who He is. How amazing is this — that God the Father loves us so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to die on the cross for us, even while we were still sinners!
Romans 5:8 – But God has shown us how much he loves us — it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us! (GNT)
And Jesus, the Son, loves us so much that He was willing to obey His Father and sacrifice Himself on the cross for our sins — your sins and my sins.
Philippians 2:8 – He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death — his death on the cross. (GNT)
Now that's love. What a love story!
Even though it may not appear to have a happy ending with Jesus suffering and dying on the cross, we know the rest of the story. He didn't stay in the tomb. He's alive and well and lives forever with His Father again.
God loves each and every one of us, and He wants us to know Him and to live with Him forever.
John 17:3 – And eternal life means to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, whom you sent. (GNT)
God's gift of eternal life is available now to all who believe in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
John 3:36a – Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. (GNT)
John 5:24a – I am telling you the truth: those who hear my words and believe in him who sent me have eternal life. (GNT)
When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit comes to live in us. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin and will lead us and guide us, and help us to do God's will and to become more and more like Jesus.
John 14:26 – The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you. (GNT)
Galatians 5:22-23 – But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these. (GNT)
What's not to like about this story — the greatest love story ever written!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, with grateful hearts, we thank You for all that You have done for us! Thank You for loving us so much. We know that we don't deserve it, and we sometimes feel overwhelmed by Your amazing love for us. May we never doubt Your love for us and always trust in Your goodness and faithfulness. Help us to love You more and more every day. We want to know You and live forever with You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Easter Blessings to you.
Dear Dee;
I too enjoy romance Christian novels. Karen Kingsbury is an excellent Christian writer, who has written about 40 novels. I have read most of them.
Dee:
How do you know all these verses in the Bible that go with your “theme”. I am truly impressed.
I’m curious. Do you pick the thought for the day or does someone else?
Good Morning, Dee,
Thank you for today’s devotional. Have you ever read books by the author Lisa Wingate. Her most recent, “Before WE Were Yours” has met with great acclaim including all sorts of accolades such as being on the NY Times Best Seller list for months. If you are not familiar with her, you might try a book of hers.
Her writing has gradually become better and better and her books are also good reading.
Greetings Dee,
Many thanks for the devotional you have written. Truly there is no greater love than our Saviour’s love for us and the tremendous sacrifice He suffered that we may have that love.
Blessings to you as you enjoy this Holy week and especially the gladness of Easter Sunday.
(B.C.)

Dear Dee,
