1 Corinthians 15:41 – The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor. (NIV)
As I lay awake in the black hole of sleeplessness, my eyes wandered to the crack in the blinds which covered the window behind my bed. I was amazed at the glory of the spectacle above. The sky, an inky black canvas, was encrusted with thousands of twinkling stars so bright as to be surreal. My frustration with my wakefulness was instantaneously transformed into praise and awe for the privilege of viewing such unexpected splendour.
Likewise, when God calls us home and we receive our resurrected bodies, what a marvellous and glorious experience that will be as we leave behind our mortality forever. Each one of us will differ in splendour from the other just as do the stars.
1 Corinthians 15:42b-44a – The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. (NIV)
What a magnificent and utterly beautiful picture this paints for us, and how so like God to save the best for last. For just as the guests at the wedding feast thought that the water that Jesus miraculously changed into wine was the best yet to be tasted at that gathering, so also will it be when we sample our first taste of heaven and all that eternity has to offer.
Prayer: Father God and loving Lord, thank You for the beauty of creation. Thank You for the beauty of the bodies that You have blessed us with as we reside upon this earth. Especially, we praise and thank You for that which is yet to come! In Christ's name, we pray. Amen.

Friday, June 9, 2023 – In South-East Asia — Batam Ahava House. Pray for Anaci as becomes more involved in helping out in the slums with Inre and Irkas. Pray for her as she continues to minister to and teach ladies coming in and out of Singapore, looking for work as domestic workers. Pray for wisdom for her as she interacts with these ladies, many who do not know the Saviour. Pray also for the Lord to supply all her needs

I am preaching about God being the beginning and the end and my children’s story is based on the hymn “All things bright and beautiful”. I am taking some items and will tell the children and the young at heart, the Lord God made them all. Made everything.

Thank you kindly for your devotional contribution this morning. It was extra special to me as a dear friend of mine whose life we celebrated recently loved the hymn “Hope is a Star” and I shared this at her service. The Lord gives us such beauty in nature and such hope and comfort for our future.

Dear Lynne, It’s never difficult to see so much negative “garbage” from the Internet, depending what site you’re looking at.
What you wrote in this devotional is like a “tall glass of ice cold water” in the middle of arid, hot desert sand that goes on for miles and miles!
Wow, your descriptions you’ve written about our eternal bodies and what they will be like as explained by scripture, were enough to make my day! Honestly!
Thank you so much for this desert oasis that doesn’t turn out to be a mirage when we get up close! One day, the truths of heaven, will become our new reality!
