What is happening on our planet?
Wildfires are raging in one part of our world, devastating hurricanes and tornadoes are destroying buildings and lives in other parts of our planet, and protests and an impending war are headlining the news. It feels like the end of the world is fast approaching. There are even rumours of a giant meteor about to crash into our planet which will wipe out humanity as we know it. As I write this, my head is about to explode with all this negative stuff, and I feel very anxious about what is to come.
Are we indeed living in the last days of humankind staying alive?
It is at a time like this that we need to remember:
Ephesians 6:12 – For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (NIV)
We need not be fearful, because fear is not from God.
John 16:33 – I have told you all this so that you will have peace of heart and mind. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world. (TLB)
Are you worried and fearful of something in your life today, tomorrow, and the future? Turn to the One Who holds us in the palm of His hand. Jesus has won the battle already. We need to trust Him, and then to bring about the changes of goodness that are within our power.
Prayer: Lord God, we are often anxious and fearful for our lives and the planet on which we live. Grant us Your peace and the assurance that You have indeed overcome the world. Help us to stand up against fear and replace it with love, forgiveness, and hope. Amen.

Hi Rosy,
There are indeed a lot of strange things going on in the world today. Having lived through a time of war, bombs and killings I fear the threat of war the most.
It is our daily prayer that the Lord will speak to the hearts of those who have the ability to change things.
Thank you for writing.
Yes, Rosy, thanks for your sure word of trusting God in all circumstances.
And we can always remember that, though earth passes away there is eternal life for all who have put their trust in the One who is the Maker of the earth, and the Maker of the eternal heaven. How wonderful that our times are in the Makers’ hands.
I pray that the news of eternal salvation in Jesus Christ will get out rapidly to all the earth.
Amen.
