Daily Blessings

Listen to this devotional:
Listen while you read: "Jesus Shall Reign"1 (Lyrics)

Ephesians 1:3 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. (NKJV)

Ezekiel 34:26 – I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing. (NKJV)

As I go through each day and get to an advanced age, I tend to be more mindful of the blessings that God bestows on each of us. He has sent showers of blessings to us over the years, just as He has promised. One of those blessings is the Presbycan Daily Devotional, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this Wednesday.

At anniversaries, we tend to reflect on the years gone by with thankfulness, and wonder where the time has gone so quickly. Probably, you are like me and have come to look forward to the Daily appearing in your mailbox as one of the many blessings God sends us.

I first heard about the Daily through a dear friend, Kay Ross, Robin Ross's mother. I started writing devotionals about three years after this site started, and the devotional continues to be a daily blessing to me and many others.

It is nearly impossible for me to remember all of the wonderful contacts that I have made through the Daily. One particular person to whom I was given the blessing to minister will never leave my mind: a young lady from Sri Lanka who was in dire need of prayer. She was experiencing some bad relationships and was ready to give up. We prayed back and forth for months on end. Praise the Lord, she came to accept Jesus as her Saviour, and she is a devout Christian today. She gave her life completely to God, and is now a happily married woman with a child, all because she listened and prayed and believed. Right now she is living in the midst of the terrible flooding and landslides in Sri Lanka. Although she and her immediately family are safe, her aunt had to be rescued from the flood waters. Keep them in your prayers. To have this connection happen has been a wonderful experience for me, and I shall ever be grateful for this blessing.

There are many others whom I have been blessed to meet through this devotional site. It has provided fellowship and a kind of community that would never have existed otherwise. God knows that in our Christian walk, it is difficult to make it alone. We need fellowship, support, and friends to pray for each other, as the Scripture says:

1 John 1:7 – But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (NKJV)

James 5:16 – Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (NIV 2011)

Prayer: Thank You, heavenly Father, for all Your blessings. At this anniversary time, we especially thank You for the Presbycan Daily. May Your hand be upon this devotional site that it may continue to grow and reach those who have never heard of Your love for them. Inspire your writers to keep writing. May we remember that You are still the same God who forgives sin, heals, redeems, and promises us daily showers of blessings. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thanks June for your faithfulness. It is indeed a blessing to be a part of this ministry.

Thank you, June, for this wonderful reminder of the Lord’s reach throughout the world through the PresbyCan Daily Devotional page. Blessings.

Thank you June. I couldn’t have said it any better. The Daily has been a blessing to me and my prayer is for it to continue to be a blessing to all and to grow (as we come to this place in Jesus name).

Hi June: Thanks to you we are receiving this daily devotional. You’ll be interested to know that we have shared it with a number of friends and family members who in turn have done likewise. God bless you for sharing this gift.

I look forward every morning to the PresbyCan Daily Devotional — it is very important to me, reminding me that every minute God is there for me. As you say, one of the most important things in my life is the fact that someone cared enough to forward it to me.

Thank you for helping to keep this wonderful Daily Devotion going. My first chore each morning is to check for the days reading. Today you called it Daily Blessing and it so reminds me of all the blessing I have. Thank you for your blessing today.

    Hi June,
Read your devotion today and was blessed. I am from Sri Lanka and was so happy to read how you were a blessing to someone. Yes we are experiencing terrible floods – please continue to uphold the affected in prayer.
    God bless you.
    (Sri Lanka)

    Dear Judith Welch,
Thank you for a very helpful devotional.
Truly Jesus IS the WAY, the Truth and the Life.
    So this is very fine;
What a blessing it is to know that the Lord Jesus is our compass, our true north, and if we get lost, we can return to Him. He will be on the lookout for us, and He will welcome us back into the fold.
He says, “I will never leave you or forsake you. He gave his Life to pay our WAY.

    Dear June,
Thank you for an inspiring story of your involvement with the Daily. Your devotional has given rise for me to share my own experience; I was given a subscription by my Bible study leader. After a few years of being blessed, I began my own journey of becoming a contributing writer. It has become a source blessing for me and our readers. Praise God!
May the Daily continue to grow and be a source of inspiration for all who want to have a rich, and fulfilling life with our Saviour and friend, Jesus Christ.

    Hi June,
I could certainly relate to your devotional! I wrote my first devotional shortly after my sister-in-law forwarded the Daily to me to read. It has been a real blessing to me as well.
I was in touch with a young man from Uganda for a couple of years after he responded to one of my devotionals.
It’s such a privilege to be part of this amazing ministry!

    Dear June,
Such a fine report of what the Daily has been for you through the years!
I praise God with you for the salvation of the Sri Lanka lady. You have had a great God-given privilege to be a witness to her and with her. May the relationship continue, and the two of you continue to be blessed in it for eternity for Jesus’ sake.
I have written for Daily since 2012, but that seems a short period in the 20-year history.
We pray for the on-going blessings for Daily to be ever enriched, and to continue and grow.

I’m new to this website and also to submitting devotionals. I’m so blessed by all the feedback. I very much enjoyed your piece today. Thank you for your prayer.
