Last winter, my daughter and I set out for one of our mother/daughter days. She wanted to get some pictures of some of the local waterfalls that were completely frozen over. We had a lovely morning; she got some great pictures; and we finished off our day with lunch at her favourite Chinese restaurant.
We left the restaurant and were on our way home when all of a sudden, as we approached a curve in the road, a van that was approaching us crossed over the centre line into our lane and hit us head on! Thump! Air bags deployed. Smoke. Pain. I am so grateful that we lived to tell the story. It could have been different.
Life often throws us curves. Sickness. Broken relationships. Lost jobs. Lost loved ones. How blessed we are, as believers in Jesus Christ, to know and experience His presence with us through every curve that comes our way.
Matthew 28:20b – And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (NIV)
Zephaniah 3:17 – The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. (NKJV)
As the saying goes, "If God brings you to it, He'll bring you through it." I have experienced the truth of this so many times in my life over the years, and I'm sure that you can trust Him, too.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we are so thankful that You are always with us in every situation that comes our way. Life can sometimes be scary, and we thank You that You will never leave us or forsake us, and that You hold us in the palm of Your hand. Whenever we are afraid, we will trust in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

So true Dee. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing.
How scary to be hit head on. So glad that you are safe.
Dee – Thanks for sharing your experience with us; He sure is our protector through whatever befalls us. What a great God we love and serve!
Thank you Dee. I’m very happy you both lived through the experience also and used it to share with on Daily as an expression/example of keeping the faith.
Wow, that was a scary situation and am thankful that God brought you and your daughter through this. Thank you for sharing and reminding us that God will never leave us or forsake us.
Hi dearest Dee,
Hope all is well with you and your loved ones in Canada. This is an interesting piece. Life is a very long, bumpy road, but we have to be insured because God is always watching over us. Security is not the absence of danger, it is the presence of God. Life is a shipwreck, we must not forget to sing in the lifeboat.
Thank God for the blessing of such a tranquil morning and for His caring protection in a head on collision! How frightening the experience must have been! Yet to feel God’s presence and protection through it, then to be given the grace to write about it giving glory to God for your deliverance, thus blessing others with this devotional, is God’s something good from an evil circumstance. Thank you for sharing this with us. Blessings.
Good morning Dee! Wonderful devotion this morning and words which I needed to hear for sure. God’s timing is perfect. I recently had a knee replacement and so the pain and readjustment is pretty big. So I found your words encouraging this morning after a miserable night of little sleep and lots of pain. So thank you! And were the two of you not fortunate to come out of that accident alive too! May God continue to bless you in your writings.
Good Morning Dee:
As always a message that brings us the assurance “underneath are His everlasting arms, always”
Have a wonderful weekend and than you for your lovely message.
Such a wonderfully simple yet meaningful lesson. Thanks for the vivid reminder, Dee.
I too was involved in a head on collision and had the peace of His presence in the months it took me to recuperate.
Bless you as you share your God given talent with others.
Thank you for your lovely devotional today!
God has always been with me, taking me through my joys and troubles.
Our God is an Awesome God.
Dee, curves are interesting. I am fascinated by the curves this world wraps around us. A couple of months ago I was hit by a car and flew over the handlebars of my motorcycle. I was bruised, that’s it, yet friends of mine that had motorcycle accidents have lost legs or had serious head injuries or forever leg injuries or loss of life. I am surprised that God protected me so well, I’m a simple person with not a lot of close friends but He cushioned my flight and here I am, uninjured. Why did I get so much protection while my friends suffer unrepairable injuries? I just don’t know. I feel somewhat guilty of benefitting from so much grace. It’s overwhelming and unexplainable how I can perfectly function and others suffer. I’ve yet to find scripture to reason my incident.
Thank you for your testimony. It helps.
