Gone Forever

I recently bought a tablet computer. I use it mainly for reading, as it is becoming increasingly difficult for me to hold a book. I also use it for my email, and I have a Bible app that I really like because I can check different versions of the Bible quite easily with it. Although I don't have many documents on it, I have typed my prayer list on it. Unfortunately, a couple of days ago, I accidentally deleted it. Unlike my desktop computer, it doesn't have a recycle bin, so I wasn't able to recover the document — it was gone forever!

This is exactly what happens with God and our sins. When we confess them to Him, He readily forgives us and forgets them — they are gone forever!

1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (NIV)

Psalm 103:12 – As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. (NIV)

If you haven't confessed your sins to God and would like to do so, you can follow these simple steps:

    1. Admit that you are a sinner.
    2. Be willing to turn from your sins.
    3. Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins.
    4. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Ask Him to come into your heart and be in control of your life through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You that even while we were still sinners, Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins. We thank You that You are ready and willing to forgive us when we come to You and humbly confess our sins to You. Not only do You forgive us but You forget. Thank You for loving us so much! We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Dee- What a wonderful message with a great analogy!

Dee I’m a little late reading this tonight, but it sure is important.

    Thanks Dee,
The Gospel message is so simple. The computer is a good tool for witnessing.
    Keep spreading the Good News.

    Hi Dee:
As I was reading this devotional this morning I was thinking what a great example to remember how God forgets our sins once we confess and bring them to him. Just like a tablet deletes. I kept reading and then discovered it was Dee.
Thank you, Dee, for sharing your insights of God with so many of us. It really helps.

    Good Morning Dee:
A beautiful devotional leading us to the foot of the cross where we are challenged from the word of God 1 John 1:9 –
to admit we are sinners. turn from our sinful ways, and Accept Christ as the sacrifice for all mankind, making him our Saviour and Lord.
A great message for those who have not yet given their lives to Christ and also for we who have had the blessed experience of coming to the Lord seeking forgiveness and knowing our sins are forgiven forever and ever.
This challenge is the gospel in the nut shell. I loved it.
    Simple but True.

    Very helpful and Biblical words.

    Dear Dee,
Thank you for a clear good gospel, way of salvation, message.
I have copied it for someone in hospital who may have little time on earth left.
I visited him and sent encouraging gospel messages and prayers.
