We had been trying to get satellite television for five years. Several knowledgeable people had spent much time seeking to locate the signal for our dish, but failure always ensued. We even decided to move the dish and purchased a large pole, planting it in a new location hoping that this would work, but alas — still no signal.
Finally, my daughter and I decided to call it quits. We would live without television, so we cancelled our satellite account. The very next day, however, a satellite installer came to town to do work for a large organization, and someone mentioned our problem to him. After finishing the original work order, he asked for directions and showed up at our place, where he and his partner pulled their ladder off the truck, and within minutes of his climbing up to the dish, he had locked onto the satellite signal without any problem. I couldn't believe it! I asked him why he had been able to do this when so many others had failed. His reply was that he was the expert, the best in his field.
As I pondered his reply and the success he had so quickly achieved, I couldn't help but think of this Scripture verse:
Proverbs 16:3 – Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. (NIV)
God is the Expert of experts. He is the best in His field as Father, Creator, Lord, King, Saviour, Friend, Judge, Counsellor, and God above all gods. Thus, it only stands to reason that, indeed, when we do commit our plans to Him — really commit them to Him, by means of asking His advice and guidance and then following it, and not just dictating what we think we want or should have — they will succeed.
Today, tomorrow, or the next day, we may be sure that major decisions and/or problems will come our way, but let us be of good cheer and remember to commit them to the Expert of experts, and then, to rest in the knowledge that He is able to work things out just the way they're meant to unfold.
Prayer: Father God, thank You that we can call upon Your name through the power of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank You that when we do truly commit to You whatever we do, we can rest in the secure knowledge that our plans will succeed according to Your good and perfect will. In Christ's name, we pray. Amen.

Very true Lynne. Blessings on your day.
Thank you Lynne for sharing this with us. I’m glad God is the expert in my life. Blessings.
Amen! Expert advice Lynne.
Blessings.
Dear Lynne,
What a wonderful story to share, and its exactly what I needed to hear today. Thank you so much for sharing this. God Bless.
Thanks for this. I am going through a “waiting” period that has dragged on for months now and it is very tempting to think that the “Expert” is not on my case.
But then I remember “Commit your plans to the Lord and they will succeed” Proverbs 16: 3.
Thanks for you encouragement to trust in Omniscient God!
Lynne,
This is not the first time for me to stumble upon an intensely inspiring message authored and relayed by you! And, perhaps, not the first time, either, for me to pass on my appreciation for the amazing quality of your messages. Yes, indeed, He has called us to come to Him for the help we need. Please know that the arrow of Faith you have so ably unleashed on believers has hit one of the many targets. ME!
Hi Lynne
Your devotional serves as a reminder to entrust everything to God. He is “the expert” in all things! At times, we have all had occasions when we thought we knew what to do/how to handle things…then comes the bump in the road where we don’t know what to do & give up. When we sit down & remember that we don’t need to know everything nor how things will work out, and put our whole trust & Faith in the One who DOES know — God — things go more smoothly! Thankfully, God is very patient with His children and is always there when we turn to Him for help.
I always enjoy your devotionals & the message they carry so please do continue to write!
God bless!
Dear Lynne,
In my skepticism, I wonder if that “best in the …” technician just hooked together a connection.
We must stay hooked together spiritually with our power-source, Our God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to get His signals.
I’m not criticizing your devotional, just letting my thoughts run.
I appreciate:
… do commit our plans to Him – really commit them to Him, by means of asking His advice and guidance and then following it, and not just dictating what we think we want or should have – they will succeed.
Today, tomorrow, or the next day, we may be sure that major decisions and/or problems will come our way, but let us be of good cheer and remember to commit them to the Expert of experts, and then, to rest in the knowledge that He is able to work things out just the way they’re meant to unfold.
“Today is the day of salvation — and the day to live it out — yes tomorrow and forever are added.
Thank you Lynne.
Keep writing.
Good Afternoon Lynne:
