1 Corinthians 12:4-7 – There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. (NIV)
Some days, I wonder why I write at all. Many days, I don't feel like writing anything, yet I do anyway. Why? The answer to that question is twofold: the Lord has given me a gift which He wants me to use for the glory of His kingdom, and the Lord has also given me all of you who are so faithful through your diligent efforts to produce the Daily or through your encouragement and feedback.
Too often as Christ's children, we feel we have little, if anything, to share with others. Our enemy, the prince of this world, is very good at convincing us that everybody else's gift is better or greater than ours. We look around and are very aware of how God is using everyone else in His church, but we never seem to be aware of how we are being used to glorify Him. And perhaps this is good, as it keeps us humble and looking to Him daily.
So today, I just want to say "thank you". As writers for the Daily, we are often the ones in the limelight, so to speak, but without all of you, there would be no Daily. So, thank you to every one who so faithfully does the mundane technical tasks behind the scenes to keep the Daily up and running, reaching out worldwide for Jesus. Thanks to those who do all the reading and the editing and the scheduling — what a job that must be! Thanks to those who give and tithe faithfully, enabling the denomination to continue to support the Daily. And thanks to all who bless me and every other writer for the Daily with your gifts of praise, hope, and encouragement through your feedback. It is more appreciated than you could ever know.
Yes, there are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
Prayer: Lord God, thank You for the gifts with which You have blessed Your church. Thank You that each and every one of those gifts is good and necessary for the common good. We ask today that You would continue to bless the Daily through the gifts of Your people, that the Daily may continue to bless people throughout the world for the glory of Your kingdom. In Christ's name, we ask. Amen.

Dear Lynne:
God gave us all who contribute. It is our duty to praise and thank Him for the gifts that He has granted, so that all of us may share. We all need the encouragement in our daily lives. Thank you.

This was a very thought provoking devotional for me. It’s been a long, long time since I have written a devotional, I feel a calling but haven’t been given a subject. As I typed this something popped into my mind!
Maybe this was the nudge I needed!
Lynne,
So happy that we are back on track. I appreciate listening to the devotionals as my reading on the computer is sometimes strained.
I am thankful that the PCC allows these devotionals.
Please be encouraged to continue with your writings, Lynne, your devotionals are very much enjoyed.
Blessings for 2013.

Hello Lynne,
I know why you write! It is in obedience to the prompting of God’s Holy Spirit within you to encourage others in many ways. Today you reminded me of the talents I have been given but have not used because I believed others were more talented. Then you make me smile when you use the animals to illustrate a point you are making, so I need you to continue writing Lynne.
God Bless.
Good Morning Lynne:
How very gracious of you to express your kind words of gratitude to the deserving, devoted and dedicated PresbyCan volunteer staff for their faithfulness and dedication in providing their writers and readers with such a high caliber of devotional material daily.
Too often we forget the hours it takes to provide this beautiful service in the name of He who loved us and gave His life for us. Thank you for remembering and making us aware of the great team we have working on our (His) behalf.
New Year Blessings.
Thank you for your grateful heart! You are a gifted writer – giving the Bible passage, adding your thoughts to amplify the message, then repeating the passage was a very moving reading experience. You’re right we don’t often think of our gifts, and I appreciate the reminder that God is at work – even through such a vessel as me! It was good to focus on the power of God not on other, weaker yet important efforts. I always like to remember the loaves and fishes story – we give, God multiplies our giving.
Thank you Lynn.
Hello Lynne,
I truly enjoyed your posting and can certainly concur with that feeling of why am I trying to write!
As God’s children, He has given us each a very special gift/talent to share with others. Far too often it seems, we let doubt creep in and convince ourselves that someone else’s words are better, their voice is stronger, they’d do something better.
Your words help to remind readers that when those doubts appear, we should have Faith to use those gifts/talents with which God has blessed each of us.
So, do continue to write and use that gift with which God has given you for His Glory!
Hope that you had a very Merry Christmas and that you will have a very Healthy and Happy New Year!
May God continue to bless you in the coming year!
Good Afternoon Lynn,
I am writing to say: Thank you for your encouragement that you continue to give me as I read our PresbyCan Devotional daily.
I must admit also, that I begin guessing who the author is as I read the day’s message, and I get you right more than anyone else, because you are so practical and down to earth.
If my wife and I were still traveling, we would want to come to Atlin sometime to personally thank you for your inspiration.
As a boy in Holland during the 1940′s, I spent much time on my three great uncles’ farms, which is probably a good reason for appreciating your style of writing that so clearly expresses your love for God and all His creation.
Fortunately our Saviour has been The Lord of our lives throughout and He has given us the privilege of serving Him, our family and Church Family.
May He, The King of Kings and Lord of Lords, richly bless you and yours in the year before us, and allow you to continue to enrich our lives with your captivating messages from Him.

Dear Lynne,
What a wonderful tribute to our Daily writers, readers and staff! A beautiful explanation of the gift of writing, in particular. I identified with your difficulties, at times, to write. I request our friends of the Daily to intercede for as we seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance to honor Him with our writing. May the Lord continue to bless us as we begin a new year.

Lynne:
The number and contents of all the responses to your devotional are indicative of how the blessings are spread. Thanks be to God for His gift to you and the blessings to all of us who receive a Daily portion.

Add my name witth all the others. Thank you.
