Listen while you read: "Thine Be The Glory"1 (Lyrics)
Hebrews 12:1-2 – Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (ESV)
I had just finished reading an article in a magazine that dealt with the miracle of healing. I knew the author, and some days later, I wrote to that person and unloaded all the health issues I had been going through. I suppose that I needed to have someone with whom to share my woes.
In response, that person sympathized with me and exclaimed, "So I guess you need a miracle right now!"
Before that day had ended, I also received feedback from a writer for the Daily devotional, to whom I had written regarding their message.
Without their knowing what was going on in my life, the answer came through loud and clear. It said, "Thank you for writing! May this be your day of miracles!"
Little did either person know that I was scheduled for two more procedures to determine what was going on regarding my health. One of these was found to be something that had to be treated and looked after.
With their messages about miracles, I proceeded with confidence that whatever the results, it would be in God's will.
One by one, these issues were dealt with, and I was completely cleared of any problems, with no treatments necessary.
After hearing this, my husband and I left the doctor's office, closed the door, and leaned up against the wall.
My husband said it all when he proclaimed, "Someone is looking after you!"
My thought: God is not finished with me yet!
Luke 8:48 – Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace." (NIV)
Prayer: Most gracious heavenly Father, we come before You this day to give thanks to You, our God of hope, who heals us. We give thanks for the prayers of others whose help ushers in the miracles You provide. In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
