Listen while you read: "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms"1 (Lyrics) |
I praise the Lord that soon after my covenant renewal with Him, I was taught in church by God-loving teachers about our triune God, and at home by the Holy Spirit by reading the Bible, by studying and reading Christian books, and by listening to audio ministry tapes. I became an avid student of "the Word", logos in Greek. Through the years, I've become ever more hungry to study to learn all that I can every day about what our Lord Christ is saying to me personally.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 – All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (NKJV)
Although some think that it's hard to find God, when we are willing, we can see throughout the Bible that God has always revealed Himself to people. Through reading the Gospels, we can see that the incarnation of Christ (deity in human form) is one of the clearest revelations and manifestations of God — revealing His holiness, love, miracle power, and His merciful forgiveness, as well as His unquestionably evident desire to save people from their darkness, by bringing them into His marvellous light.
John 1:14 – And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (NKJV)
Through Jesus' oneness with His Father, He is uniquely able to reveal and communicate God's heart and mind to us. Our Lord Jesus is "the Word", and willingly teaches us everything about God and Himself — His way, truth, and life, and His miracles and sufferings for us. His death and resurrection are proof of God's saving love.
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (NKJV)
Everyone's future in this life and their eternal future will depend on whether they will or will not read, listen to, believe, and follow Jesus, "the Word".
John 1:1,10-11 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. (NKJV)
May we not be like so many who turn a deaf ear to the constant love messages from Jesus, "the Word", Who is ever willing to share, teach, turn people around, receive, forgive, renew, refresh, and save to eternity those who willingly hear, believe, and repent of their sins.
Beloved, in order to lead others by example, we who are truly born of "the Word" and the Spirit, must ever closely cling to and love Him with all our hearts. May we indeed believe, trust, and rely totally on this perfectly beautiful life-changing holy name of our Christ, logos, "the Word", which is but one of Jesus' altogether powerful, lovely names. "He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God." (Revelation 19:13 NKJV)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are the One and only true and living Word. You continually speak Your love and Your light to the darkness in our hearts and to the world. Thank You for renewing and reviving the lives of those who believe through receiving Your love messages in Your holy Word. May we ever be eager to know You, hear You, proclaim You "the Word", in and out of season, with joy and confidence in Your power and love. Amen and Amen!
