Hebrews 10:25 – Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (NIV)
Having written devotional messages over the past eleven years, I have been blessed in so many ways, especially through the people I have expressed my love of God to and with, and the encouragement they have been to me and, prayerfully, I to them.
God puts us in specific places to do His will in His way.
I have had the privilege of meeting some of the readers face to face, but many faithful readers I know only through their feedback sent to me. Some have passed away, and we have all grown older, for sure.
Our readers need to know how important encouragement is to us writers. The encouragement of readers, other writers, and the devotional editors contribute mightily to the work of those who write the devotionals.
It has been exciting to have had close contact with other devotional contributors over the years. These contacts have been a blessing to me as we encouraged one another to write and as we shared things that our readers received as a result.
Christians sharing together often pick up from one another, and the Holy Spirit uses us all to inspire our devotional messages. To our editors, we say, "Thank you!" for encouraging us to think more deeply about what we have said, and sometimes to rewrite (more than once) to get it right!
What a thrilling experience it is, as we meet together on this website, coming from different denominations and different countries to join together as Christians to spread the Word of God.
In all of this, I praise God for the entire time He has provided for us to come together, to reach out to others, and to be touched by the hand of God.
Though we are, in fact, worlds apart from one another and not assembled in one room, we do come together in Christ, to encourage one another.
Prayer: Lord God, thank You for providing this means of encouraging one another, be we writer, reader, or editor. You are our stronghold in the storms of life, and the blessing and hope that we have, as we cling to the cross of Christ. We give You thanks for the time You have given to each one of us. May we not give up meeting together in this medium, "as we see the Day approaching". Amen.
