Sharing A Blessing

Listen to this devotional:

Philemon 1:6 – And I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ. (ESV)

We are very blessed to have a Christian radio station in our city. My favourite day of the week to listen to the radio is Sunday. That station is on all day throughout our home. It plays in the garden if I am gardening and in the garage if I am out there. We even have it on when we go out on the boat. We recently spent a Sunday afternoon travelling on the Trent-Severn waterway navigating the locks and lakes. As we were sitting in the lock along with six other boats while the lock took us up to the next part of the Trent system, I became aware that the radio was on. During the next fifteen minutes while we chatted with the other boaters, the Lord was ministering to everyone through the music on the radio. Even though no one made a comment about the radio being on, I am trusting that in our conversation during this time, we were a reflection of the Lord.

At times when I feel I am not being a witness for the Lord, I look back at situations that have passed and think how I could have been a witness to Him. This time in the locks has shown me that the Lord wants to be a part of our lives at all times, and that by being who we are in Him, He will show through in our daily walk.

Matthew 5:16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (NKJV)

Prayer: Dear Lord, we want to be a blessing and share Your love with this world. Help us to know that by Your love, grace, and mercy, and by the Holy Spirit, we are showing You to the world. Challenge us to grow in all areas of our lives so that we reflect a new and renewed image of You to the world. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
