Jeremiah 33:3 – Call to me, and I will answer you. (GWT)
Years ago, I bought a piece of piano sheet music as a gift for one of my daughters, since she loved to play the piano. I put it in a really safe spot so that I could wrap it up and give it to her on her special day.
A few days before that special day, I went looking for that piece of sheet music. I looked high and low but still could not find it. Her day came and went, and I didn't find it. I told her that I had bought it for her but couldn't find it, and I assured her that one day, it would appear and she could then have it. A few months afterwards, we moved, and I found the sheet music in a spot where I had never thought of looking.
Since then, I still put items in a safe place so that I will know where they are when needed. And often, when I go looking for them, I can't find them. What I do now is to pray about it, telling God that I put it somewhere that I don't remember. I tell Him that I need it within the next day or so. I ask Him to bring to my memory where the lost item is. Then, I close my eyes and have a wonderful sleep. Often, in the morning, I know exactly where it is. I go directly to that spot (before I forget once again!) and sure enough, there it is! I thank God for revealing to me the whereabouts of the "hidden" item.
1 Peter 5:7 – Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you. (GNB)
God does care. He wants us to trust Him with everything in our lives. He wants us to leave all of our worries, our cares, our concerns with Him.
How are we doing? Do we carry the load? Or do we give it to Him to carry? Do we lie down and have a good sleep? Or are we anxious and worried about life's situations? What will we do about it?
Prayer: Father God, we come to You today, maybe with a little worry or nagging thought that we just can't shake. There are many truths in Your Word that we need to find and claim to be ours. You are trustworthy. You do care. You will answer us. Help us to speak truth — Your truth — into our own souls. Thank You for caring, and thank You for answering when we call on You. Amen.
