Salvaged Treasures

1 John 4:16 – And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God and God in him. (NKJV)

I can remember going with my dad as a child to the auto wreckers on a Saturday morning to locate a part to repair the car. We would wander up and down the rows in search of a car similar to ours that might still have the part we needed to fix our car. As for most things in our lives, times have changed, and now these wreckers are called auto recyclers. We even have one in our area that you can call on the telephone, and they can tell you in most cases through the use of a computer whether they have the part you require.

We also know One who is in the salvage business. We are His salvaged treasures. He knows all about us and all our parts. He doesn't need a computer to tell Him where we are or how we are doing. He knows, and He cares, anytime of the day or night.

1 Corinthians 6:19c-20a – You are not your own; you were bought at a price. (NIV)

Ephesians 2:8 – For by grace you have been saved though faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. (NKJV)

Prayer: Dear Jesus, we cannot comprehend the cost You paid on the cross for each of us. Thank You that we are Your treasures and that You care so much for each of us. Help us, heavenly Father, to go out into the world and help You salvage others who are in need of a loving Saviour. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
