1 Corinthians 2:9 – However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." (NIV)
If you have any technological items in your house, then I am sure that you, like me, also have many cords that go with them. Over the years, I have spent a lot of time looking for this cord and that cord for our electronic items.
I thought I had it all figured out. I started to place these cords in a cloth bag in our home office. I knew right where the bag was each time someone would ask for a cord. When someone was done with the cord, it would be returned, and it would go back into the bag.
Finally, we had solved the searching problem for cords — or so I thought! Our son came and asked for a cord, and we went together to get him one. As we looked into the bag, we gazed upon a tangled mess of cords. I said to him, "How is it that all these cords can become so entangled with one another, just sitting in a bag?"
As we began to take a cord out, other cords also came with it. Soon we had many cords in our hands, as we began to unravel the cord we needed. As we were talking, I mentioned how our lives can become so entangled through sin. The cords were in a bag, basically in the darkness, until we went into the bag to retrieve a cord, and then they were brought into the light and unravelled.
Galatians 5:1 – Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (NKJV)
Jesus wants and does the same thing for us. He wants us to come into His light and let Him unravel the darkness and sin in our lives. He wants us to be in a relationship with Him and then He will take care of unravelling our lives.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, we praise and thank You for all that You did on the cross for us. Help us to show the world how others can get plugged into Your love, grace, and mercy. You want us to go into the world and bring light, and unravel a tangled and hurting world. Amen.
