1 Peter 5:7 – God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him. (CEV)
Years ago, when I was struggling with life in many areas, I would give those issues to God. I am a visual person, so I needed something that I could see that was meaningful to me. Someone suggested that I draw a conveyor belt, then draw the problems on the conveyor belt, going up to God in heaven, pictured by a cloud. I have done that many times over the years. For me, it sure did help to see it.
More recently, when I struggle with specific issues in my life, I have been visualizing and drawing an arrow flying up to God, with my issue on it. I think I like this second visual better. Arrows go much faster than conveyor belts. I like it because it seems to reach God more quickly than on a conveyor belt. I can see it flying through the air to God, because I know He cares for me.
Some people may not have to visualize or draw a picture of giving their problems to God. The main thing is that we do give our struggles to God. Sometimes, the thing we have to give to God is ourselves. I have often drawn myself on that conveyor belt or arrow.
Romans 12:1-2 – Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That's the most sensible way to serve God. Don't be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him. (CEV)
Let's give God ourselves so that we will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to God. Let's not carry our own troubles but rather give them to the Lord. He promises to carry them for us.
Psalm 55:22 – Pile your troubles on God's shoulders — he'll carry your load, he'll help you out. He'll never let good people topple into ruin. (MSG)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, how our hearts thrill to know that You care so much for us. We claim these truths as ours today. Thank You. Amen.
