Revelation 1:7 – Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. (NKJV)
As I was on my way for my walk at the lake that morning, going through my mind and thoughts was all that had to be accomplished that day. As I rounded the corner and looked up across the way, my eyes fell upon the following scene.
On the serene, calm lake, with the sun just rising in the background, four rowers were sitting in a boat, and directly in front of them was another boat with a person standing on the bow. With his hands, he was giving directions to the rowers, whose eyes were fixed on him and on the motions of his hands. I was immediately drawn in, and I wondered if this was what it would have been like for the disciples on the Sea of Galilee as Jesus taught them. As I took this event in, I was also brought into an awareness of the land around our lake, which also flowed in a gentle hill down to our waterfront. Again my thoughts went to the people who would have gathered on the shore to see Jesus teach.
1 Thessalonians 2:19 – For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? (KJV)
We can get so busy in our lives and schedules that even though we are walking with Jesus, we can still miss Him in our everyday lives.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for glimpses of You in our lives every day. Please help us to become more aware of these glimpses, and enable us to use them as a witness, sharing them with the world. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
