Leviticus 26:12 – And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people. (KJV)
Our son just turned 16, and on that day, he went for his beginners' driving permit. My husband and I sat in the parking lot, waiting for him to write the test. I was reminded that 16 years ago on this day, we were awaiting his birth. As he came out of the office holding the driver's license and a smile to match, I was again reminded of the first look I bestowed on him when his dad passed him to me the day he was born.
Not growing up with Jesus — until three years ago — has certainly led to many times of reflection in the past three years. I must admit that I am now so thankful that Jesus is a part of each of our lives. As our son approaches this new chapter in his life, Jesus will be a part of this chapter with him and us.
Our Father in heaven must share the same joy and pride as we go through the chapters in our life. It is as we go through these chapters that our love for Jesus grows.
Deuteronomy 30:20 – And love God, your God, listening obediently to him, firmly embracing him. Oh yes, he is life itself, a long life settled on the soil that God, your God, promised to give your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. (MSG)
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for Your outpouring of love and Your hand on our lives. We thank You that You first loved us. Amen.
