A Little Bit Of Heaven

1 Chronicles 29:11 – To you, O God, belong the greatness and the might, the glory, the victory, the majesty, the splendour; Yes! Everything in heaven, everything on earth; the kingdom all yours! You've raised yourself high over all. (MSG)

I grew up in southern Alberta, Canada. On rare occasions on a cold winter night, we could see the aurora borealis, or more commonly known as the northern lights.

After moving to northern Alberta, we were shocked to be able to see the same spectacular view all year long. Because the days here in the summer are very long, we have to stay up very late to see them. The first year, we would lie out on the lawn and watch, enthralled with the dancing lights all over the sky. They are always white, but there are often yellows, greens, and pinks as well. It is a sight to behold.

We are quite used to seeing them all year round now. But when our international students come, that is one highlight they don't want to miss. They will stay up very late night after night in order to see them.

We like to think that the aurora borealis is a little glimpse of Jesus and heaven. God is allowing us to see a teeny bit of the majesty and glory and magnificence of our eternal home.

Prayer: Thank You for the beautiful northern lights. They are breathtaking at times. How much grander heaven will be! Amen.
