Seeing Jesus

Sunday, October 30, 2005

Recently at the airport, I saw such a beautiful picture. A young lady was pacing back and forth, waiting for the arrival of the aircraft. When it was announced that the passengers would soon be entering the terminal, she stood still and waited as close to the door as possible. Before long, a tall, handsome young man rushed in through the gate. The young lady had eyes only for him, rushed to him, and they embraced. I don't know how long he had been gone or where he had been, but the joy in their seeing each other was definitely visible.

I'm sure our eyes will be on Jesus as we enter the pearly gates, and we will rush to Him and tell Him how much we love Him. What a blessed thought to see Jesus face to face — He Who loves us and died for us.

Revelation 22:4 – And they will see his face. (NLT)

Prayer: Lord Jesus, we are on a journey here. Some of us have a longer journey ahead than others. But our destination is the same. As Christians, we will walk through the gates and see You. Thank You for providing the way and for being the pilot of our aircraft. Amen.
