Psalm 104:33 – I will sing to the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have any being. (AMP)
When my children came down for breakfast, cheerfully singing a little tune, I cried out, "Sing before breakfast and cry before noon!" After all, I had learned that from my mom and my granny, so it must be a true statement, right? As a child, I even found myself watching through the day, on guard and afraid, waiting for the moment that I would burst into tears. I was never disappointed.
Then I came to know Jesus as my personal Saviour. Nowhere in my Bible could I find any proof for such a comment. In fact, God says just the opposite.
Psalm 30:5b – Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. (AMP)
So now, what other traditional, misinformed statements are still running around in our heads?
Prayer: O Lord, our heads are full of untruths about You. Sift our brains, Lord. Weed out the chaff, and leave us only the pure grain of Your Word. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
