God Supplies Our Needs

Philippians 4:19 – And my God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (NRSV)

I was in a situation once where I could not get any work because a college had not trained me correctly, and therefore I did not get the experience I needed. I had undergone back surgery a few years prior to this and so was limited in what I could do.

I belonged to a church that was so giving and loving. I don't remember asking them for anything, except prayer, but three or four different times I found sacks of food on my porch. Even on Thanksgiving Day I found a laundry basket full of Thanksgiving food. I had no idea who it was really from, but sort of knew it was from those loving and caring people from the church. It just seems that God would not give me what I really needed until ten minutes before I needed it. That is the way He is, like when Abraham went up on the mountain thinking he was to offer his own son as a sacrifice, and then God provided a ram for him to use. So we see He does provide for us.

Prayer: Father God, we come into Your presence in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, humbly requesting that You help us to trust You for all our needs, knowing that You are our Father and we are Your children. We know that You will not let us have basic wants and not supply them for us. We give You thanks and praise. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
