Listen while you read: "Praise The Lord Who Reigns Above"1 (Lyrics)

I love to watch the sun rise, to see it push away the shades of night and shine in all its splendour, prancing across the morning sky, like Joseph dancing in delight as he showed off his fashionable coat of many colours. As a child, I remember watching the rising sun from my bedroom window. My mother delighted in showing me how its warm rays kissed the dewdrops clinging to the blades of grass.

My dad's love of music taught me to listen to the birds' choir. I smiled as the duck squawked its first notes, trying to find the right tune, then joined the other birds as they sang together in harmony below my open window.

In addition, my heavenly Father taught me to greet the dawn with prayer, to take my concerns to Him and leave them with Him, for He alone knows the answers.

Philippians 4:6 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (NIV)

Here, God's Word tells us not to worry about things. Instead, we are to pray about everything and thank Him, for He has the answers.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, today we are asking You to take our worries and concerns. We thank You for this day and for Your answers. Amen.
