Isaiah 58:11 – The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. (NIV)
Psalm 139:15b-16 – When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. (NIV)
Isaiah 58:8 – Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. (NIV)
My husband drives for an automotive dealership, transporting new cars from one dealership to another. It is almost incomprehensible to the human mind what some of these new vehicles can do. They are filled with computers that monitor functions from fuel consumption to speed. They are controlled by a Global Positioning System (GPS) of satellites that triangulate the position of a vehicle and give its location within a few metres of its place on the face of the earth. An address can be put into the system telling the driver of the vehicle where his destination is and how to reach it. This system in an automobile is not standard equipment. The purchaser has to want the system and be willing to pay extra for it.
Just as the GPS is installed in those automobiles, there is a guide available for the uncharted territory of our inner lives if we but seek Him. God, who knew us before we were formed, invites us to connect to His Guidance System and follow His directions. We must be willing to "plug into God's system", which is His Word, and follow His directions for our lives.
Prayer: Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, we ask You to go before us, to prepare a place for us, and to open our hearts to Your directions. We want to be a part of Your system. Amen.
