Listen while you read: "The Lily Of The Valley"1 (Lyrics) |
1 Corinthians 13:12 – For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then I shall know even as also I am known. (KJV)
"You'll know me by the picture on my book," she wrote. I know a little more than that about Anne Russell. By reading her book and her regular submissions to this page, I have learned some things about her faith, her family, and her heart for Jesus.
I'll be speaking at the Christian Women's Club in her hometown, and we have arranged to meet face to face. Then I will know Anne in a more complete way. I'll hear her voice, know what her laugh sounds like, see how tall she is.
I know Jesus by His picture also. It's in the Book! Every Bible page tells me something about Him, and, yes, His Father.
John 14:9 – Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; so how can you say, "Show us the Father?" (NKJV)
Someday we all will meet God face to face. But for now, we have the Book, and our fellow Christians, who are becoming more like Him every day. Face to face will be great, but we'll be fine till then. We have the Book.
Colossians 2:1 – I want you to realize that I continue to work as hard as I know how for you, and also for the Christians over at Laodicea. Not many of you have met me face-to-face, but that doesn't make any difference. Know that I'm on your side, right alongside of you. You're not in this alone. (MSG)
Prayer: Dear supporting God, thank You for the Book. Your pictures are so clear. Thanks for the privilege we have of opening it daily, getting to know You better, and learning more about You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
