Mark 4:39 – Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. (NKJV)
On a recent trip, the voices, which have been attacking me for so long, were clamouring again for my attention, though I was trying my best to ignore them.
Yet, as I journeyed along the now less-travelled but more scenic route along our island, I was awe-struck by the wondrous beauty of God's creation. The sun was setting, the colours were like the rainbow, and the sea was so calm. It appeared like a great expanse of glass — with the beautiful mountains in the background.
I started to feel peaceful. I'm sure God was sending me a message, saying, "Peace, be still, June, I am still with you." I felt the assurance that He was calming me, just as He had calmed the seas, and that He indeed is still and always will be with me.
Just as He has been with me throughout all my tormented times, He will be with each of us during our trials and tribulations, if we let Him. We just have to listen for His voice; He will send His peace.
John 16:33 – These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (NKJV)
Prayer: Dear Lord, we come to You with thanks for Your presence in our lives, and for the grace and peace You grant to us. Just when we think that we are at the end of our rope, You are there, pulling the rope back towards Yourself, and granting us the peace and strength to carry on. We praise You, Lord. Amen.
