Cluttered Minds

Romans 12:1 – So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life — your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life — and place it before God as an offering. (MSG)

I wouldn't say that my house was in C.H.A.O.S. (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome), but I did have some trouble spots that needed work. My goal was organization and less clutter.

Now a free Web site sends me daily messages like, "Clean your purse", and "Time to chase the cobwebs". Some users of the Web site couldn't get their Christmas trees down before July. Others had beds so piled with stuff that they hadn't been slept in for years. Still others de-cluttered and found money, precious jewellery, and family mementoes that had been "lost".

Often our minds are as cluttered as our homes. We get hung up on the stuff of life and forget God. We try to pray, but the words won't come. Our busyness gets in the way. Let's ask for God's help!

Prayer: Oh God, remove the clutter from our minds, and help us to focus on You! Take our busyness. De-clutter the rooms of our minds, and fill them with Yourself. Help us to find all that is precious in You. Amen.
