Psalm 20:2 – Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion. (KJV)
Psalm 54:4 – Behold, God is mine helper; the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. (KJV)
People were silently taking their leave after participating in "The Stations of the Cross" on Good Friday. Ever so gently, the silence was broken by the soft harmony of "How Great Thou Art", coming from three young teenaged girls sitting in a pew.
So sweet was the sound, and so awesome it was that they had been led to break out in song, that a woman sidled up to the pew behind them and joined in. The chorus became a little louder. Several others hummed or sang softly so as to accompany, but not over-ride the girls' voices, yet, as others sang in support, the girls' voices became a little stronger.
Soon a man could no longer contain himself and slid into the pew beside the woman behind the girls. His voice added depth to the little "choir" and soon the strains of "How Great Thou Art" were loud and clear, and everyone near could easily hear.
God does that for us sometimes. When we really feel like doing something for Him, if we start out faithfully believing that we can do it, He puts people in our path that bolster our spirits and spread out the support we need to go on, and we can get through it.
Prayer: Our heavenly Father, thank You for the support You send us in so many different ways. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
