John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. (NASB)
"I wuv ooh, too!" With a twinkle in her eye, and a smile to disperse the gloomiest of days, Sierra Marie, my granddaughter, spoke these words in response to my "I love you."
"I love you." Three very special words that melted my heart.
As I contemplated those three little words, I thought about our heavenly Father's unconditional love for us. He loved us so much that He gave His only begotten Son as a sacrifice for our sins. God's precious son, Jesus, became the atonement for our sins, so that we may have eternal life. What love!
Can we hear the Father saying, "This is for you, because I love you," as He watched His Son being nailed to a tree? Can we hear ourselves respond, "I love you, too"?
Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates His own love towards us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (NASB)
Prayer: Father in heaven, may our hearts of stone melt and become hearts of flesh as we receive your precious words into our hearts. Amen.
