Eagles know when a storm is approaching long before it strikes, and fly to a high spot. When the storm strikes, the majestic bird opens its wings, letting the winds lift it above the storm. The eagle does not escape the storm, but uses it to soar higher.
When life's storms beset us, we can rise above them by opening our minds and hearts to God. By allowing His power to lift us above them, storms cannot overcome us. Our Father helps us ride the turbulent winds that bring sickness, tragedy, failure, disappointment, and heartache.
Let us remember that life's burdens don't weigh us down; how we handle them may.
Isaiah 40:31 – Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. (NIV)
Let us pray briefly, giving thanks for the one who sent this message. If we then pass it on to five others, and if they respond similarly, five other people may then pray for each of us and for still others. Let us feel God's power work in our lives to enable us to do what He wants us to do.
Prayer: O Lord, lift us up in the midst of the storms we face. Help us to sense the prayers of others lifting us up, and to know Your power in overcoming our trials. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
