2 Chronicles 16:8 – Were not the Cushites and Libyans a mighty army with great numbers of chariots and horsemen? Yet, when you relied on the Lord, He delivered them into your hand. (NIV)
Several years ago, a dear friend of mine started collecting frogs. Since then I have received several greeting cards with frogs on them, a frog planter which sits on the shelf on my office, and a Gund frog which sits atop my computer — just to mention a few. Each time I've received any of the above, it's been good for a laugh!
Recently, I received a card, a mug and a bookmark — all covered with frogs — but with a new twist. Frog = "Fully Rely On God". Now whenever I look at any of my frogs, I'm reminded to fully rely on God.
Sound advice for each one of us! Who of us can do anything on our own? Yet we "can do all things through Christ Who strengthens us" (Philippians 4:13). God knows our weaknesses but He is also willing to help us. Our faith may be weak, but our God isn't! Now I'm always on the lookout for greeting cards with frogs on them, and still often receive the same. Whenever I receive a "frog" card in the mail, it puts a smile on my face and warms my heart, as well as serving to remind me to "Fully Rely On God".
Isaiah 26:4 – Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal. (NIV)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, too often we try to control our own destiny. Please forgive us and help us to trust You and fully rely on You as we journey through this life, knowing that You hold the future and that You will make all things beautiful in Your time. In Jesus' name, Amen.
