Revelation 5:13 – To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honour and glory and power, for ever and ever! (NIV)
Several years ago, Honeytree wrote a song entitled, "Diamond in the Rough". How true the words of this song are! Have you ever seen a diamond in the rough? They are not very pretty nor shiny — rather dull and ordinary — but oh, how shining and beautiful they become after going through the process of severe stress, pressure, and heat!
Our lives as Christians are like these diamonds. We start out as something not too pretty. Sometimes we wonder why we have to go through the things we go through, but God knows what the finished product will be. It is only through our tests, trials, and struggles that we become stronger Christians and realize what a truly omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient God we serve. Also, through these stresses, we become strong, beautiful "diamonds" for Him. What a joy it is to be called His servants and His sons and daughters. Whatever we need or want to share, He is always there! I can hardly wait to get to heaven to see all the beautiful "diamonds" God has put through the tests! I want my life to be a shining example — a light to those who are lost and in need of our glorious Lord.
Prayer: Precious Father, thank You for the tests and trials You allow us to go through. You are always there to guide and help us through. May others only see You in us. Help us not to break when going through the "pressure" process, so Your name will receive honour and glory. May we always be careful to give You the highest praise. Amen.
