Psalm 118:24 – This is the day which the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. (NASB)
I stared at the greeting I had just typed into the e-mail message, "God morning!" What it should have read was, "Good morning!"
After I completed my e-mail message and sent it to my friend, I contemplated the mis-spelling.
It really is a God morning, a God day and a God evening. It is by the grace of God that we live and breathe. Everything that we have is given to us by our heavenly Father. When we awaken in the morning, it is because God has chosen to grant us yet another day on this earth.
As I get older, these precious, additional days granted are like extra pages added to my book of life. As we near the season of Advent, my prayer is that we will examine ourselves and ask, "What good deed can I do for someone today?" "What can I do to make this world a better place?" "How can I help?" and pray, "God, help me to do whatever it is that You want me to do." It is a God day, whether a day brings sadness or happiness. Let us remember that every day is a God day and that He is with us always.
Psalm 90:12 – So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. (KJV)
Prayer: Dear God, You know everything about us. You know us better than we know ourselves. Everything we have You have provided. You have trusted us as stewards of Your creation. Father, we admit that we have failed over and over again, and we ask that You help us to be what You intended us to be. Help us to remember that all our days are God days. Amen.
